About Sun Peaks Alpine Club

We’ve been around for more than 60 years! Our club formed in 1962 under the name “Kamloops Ski Team”. Since then, we have undergone several name changes: The “Tod Mountain Ski Team”, the “Kamloops Alpine Club”, and finally, when the mountain officially changed their name to Sun Peaks Resort in 1992, we became the “Sun Peaks Alpine Club”. Kamloops has a wealth of ski racing knowledge and former members and alumni can be found everywhere. The former club cabin is still around, now called the Sun Peaks Hostel, on your right as you drive by the Burfield Lodge. The Sun Peaks Alpine Club Cabin, located on the hill, is our home base now.

Clubhouse Use

The SPAC clubhouse is located on the west end of the main parking lot P2, beside the Sun Peaks Health Centre.

The clubhouse serves as a meeting place for all racers and their coaches. There is a kitchen equipped with microwaves and a fridge for lunch use.

The clubhouse is open on weekends from 8:30am – 4:00pm. Midweek days and times will vary.

Use of the clubhouse is restricted to Sun Peaks Alpine Club members.

Lockers are available in the basement for all FIS/U16/U14 athletes. If there are extra lockers, they can be assigned to other athletes and/or club members, at the discretion of the program director.

Support Us

As a non-profit organization, we are always looking for partnerships. Sponsorship helps with operating and program costs and eases the financial burden on families. Not only do we offer diverse advertising in return, but also the immediate support of over 100 families plus their ties in the community. There are more than 4 million recreational skiers in Canada and as the second-largest resort in British Columbia, Sun Peaks Resort attracts locals and tourists from around the world. We provide exposure locally, nationally, and globally. We encourage Club members to express their appreciation to our sponsors by patronizing their services. We have four levels of Partnership (Platinum, Gold, Silver & Bronze) and provide receipts so that businesses can claim advertising expenses. Receipts for personal tax returns cannot be issued as we are not a charitable organization.

Contact our Program Director to see how you can become a Club sponsor in our partnership program!
